The Annual Run with the Books is hosted by Friends of the Walkersville Library. The event is scheduled during the festive Walkersville Days celebration. Participants will run on paved pathways that meander through the grounds of Heritage Farm Park. Throughout the race scenic views of the country side are provided. Such as, along a wooded path that follows the Walkersville Southern Railroad tracks. Across a wooden foot bridge which leads to a path nestled beside the babbling waters of Glade Creek that is shaded by a sundry of majestic trees. The path rises and extends onto open ground that leads around the stately historic Harris home and brick-bank barn.
Race organizers arranged for participants to start and finish in the same location where sponsors and volunteers will cheer participants over the finish line. The selected area is conveniently located by a large playground and restrooms.
Professional race services provided by Frederick Steeplechasers Running Club.
A "Run with the Book 5K" T-Shirt will be provided to the first 99 persons who register by 11:59pm on May 1, 2021.
